Latest games in my collection

Well some how I'v managed to get a few new games in the last month or so, so I thought I would do a quick post about them.
The first, and one that I have been waiting for sometime is Elemental, its a cross between Civ and a PRG. It had a bit of a rocky lunch with a few problems and bugs, but they have just released patch 1.08 which seems to have solved all my problems with it, so now I can put in some time on it now!

The second game I got was Worms Reloaded, this one is so Samuel can play, but I loved Worms Armageddon which was 10 years ago!

And the last is Future Wars, a turn base game, again I thought Samuel might like to play as its a slow game of "i have more tanks then you".

Sun flare in HD

Here is a short video clip of the last sun solar flare that went off on the 2nd of this month.
And NASA says that this just marks the start of a long, crazy solar storm season.

The Sun goes through a regular activity cycle that lasts about 11 years, cycling between activity (solar maximum) and quiet (solar minimum). The last solar maximum was in 2001 followed by a long period of very little activity. The eruptions are among the first signs that the Sun is waking up and beginning to move towards another solar maximum, expected to occur in about 2013.

Microsoft Surface - Gamers Dream?

Now I'm a bit of a gamer when given the chance, and for the last few years have been watching Surface with excitement! This looks great, still well out of reach price wise for any one that does not have there own jet, but we can dream.

I'v said it before that Civilization is one of my fav games of all time, and still play civ4 even now, but civ 5 is almost here and I can't wait!! it looks great and they have add and changed things for the better. check out the video here at kotaku.

Mortal Kombat trailer

Could this be a re-invenstion of the mortal kombat name? is it a live action trailer for a new up and coming game or a movie, I hope its a movie as this looks great, dark and more dare I say real.

new ad from Adidas

This is just a great new ad from Adidas, featuring Snoop Dogg, David Beckham, Daft Punk and Oasis' Noel Gallagher in the classic cantina scene from starwars new hope. I think Snoop plays it just right :)

Magyk - read!

Just finished reading/well listening to "Magyk book one" by Angie Sage. Got it off itunes audio books and thought it was very good. But as it was only book one of what I think its upto book 5 at the moment, so don't know if I will get to them all, but if I have a few £'s spare I would get the nexted one as Magyk was only £4.99 for a 12hr story.

AVP Redemption fan made film

This has got to be one of he best fan made films out there at the moment. It was made by Alex Popov.

AVP:Redemption fan film made by me Alex A. Popov for the purpose of entertaining the fans of both , Alien and Predator franchises, and also to share my vision of what Alien VS Predator film should be. The total budget for this film was about $500 and over 2 years of my free time :) It took so long cause it was a ONE MAN project. I did all filming, directing, Editing, VFX compositing, sound design, You name it. So hopefully you enjoyed it.

To mark the release of steam on the mac they are giving away the game portal for free on both pc and mac. I'm downloading my copy now. Its always one game I never got hold of, but liked the idea, but hey its free so no reason not to now. :)

Only me favorite game of all time is now on steam for £6.25 for the complete edition, I had to get it again just to brush up on it before Civ 5 hits the shops in september. Don't waste time get over there and buy it, many,many hours lost to this game. :)

TomTom has decided to celebrate Star Wars Day—May 4th—with a Darth Vader voice for their GPS devices, complete with Imperial March playback, rattling lightsabers, and flying TIE Fighters. And there are more Star Wars characters coming soon:

The annoying C-3PO will be released in June. Yoda will give you directions backwards in July. And if you want to be told your driving is too cocky, Han Solo will tell you so in August.

Google Editions e-book service launching this summer

Think Google is content to simply make public domain books freely available for e-book readers? Not quite -- the company has just confirmed that its previously announced Google Editions e-book service will finally be launching in late June or July. That service will apparently let folks buy digital copies of books they find through Google's existing book search service, and let book retailers sell Google Editions on their own site and retain the "bulk of the revenue." Details are otherwise still pretty light, including any word of pricing or publishers involved, but Google has previously said that it planned to make between 400,000 and 600,000 books available with prices set by the publishers.
